Man realizes bullet injury after 7 hours of being shot in northern India
A man realized that he got shot after seven hours in northern India's Rajasthan on September 16. The incident took place in Malwara village, located in the Raniwara region of the Jalore district.
Visuals feature the operation going on in full swing. The victim lies on the operation table while a group of doctors meticulously operate the bullet out. Initially, the bullet gets displayed in the x-ray, following which the medical experts conduct the surgery.
35-year-old Nemi Chand is a lineman and was sleeping with three other people when the incident unfolded. The group went to check some faulty lines, following which they decided to sleep in the same room. Upon feeling some discomfort, Chand thought that a cat scratched him while he was sleeping. However, it was later revealed that it was a gunshot wound.
Chand realized he was shot seven hours after and got the bullet operated out 10 hours later. Although the bullet did not harm any vital organs, it was embedded in his body the entire time. The incident unfolded on Thursday night, following which orthopedics surgeon Dr. Vardharam Dewasi and general and lap surgeon Dr. Narseeram conducted the operation on Friday morning.
Chand realized that he was shot after one of his companions found an empty bullet shell. However, none of the people present in the room heard the gun go off. Furthermore, the Raniwara police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and further investigation into the matter is underway.
