Human rights monitor sites City of Cape Town guilty of breaking law by evicting homeless & confiscating structures
The City of Cape Town Municipal Police confiscated tents and living structures from homeless persons on the edge of the Cape Town CBD earlier today.
Two handicapped homeless persons whose living structures were confiscated during the operation questioned the City's actions and how they felt less than humans.
Jared Sachs, a human right monitor sited the City of Cape towns actions illegal considering the PIE act and the Disaster Risk Management lockdown that South Africa currently finds itself under due to Covid19
