A 15-year-old boy from northern India has built a remarkable e-bike from scrap parts on a budget of just 600 US dollars.

Rajan from New Delhi got his hands on an old Royal Enfield motorbike and then careful converted it to run off electricity.

The result is an environmentally friendly machine that can travel at around 50 kilometres per hour with a range of 100 kilometres on a full charge.

Unfortunately, Rajan can't get a learner's license until he's 16 even though his engineering skills have clearly shown wisdom beyond his years.

Hailing from northern India's New Delhi, a 15-year-old boy, identified as Rajan, developed an e-bike from scrap on his own. Visuals shot on September 19 feature Rajan driving the vehicle.

Visuals feature Rajan posing with his newly developed e-bike. Painted in a striking red color, the bike makes zero noise while being driven. Later, footage of Rajan working on the two-wheeler gets featured. He single-handedly develops the scrap bike from scratch and modifies its machine.

Rajan always wanted to make an e-bike and started with an e-cycle first but wasn't successful. Later, he told his father that he needed to develop an e-bike for a school project. Considering financial problems, his father refused at first but later gave in to Rajan's desire.

Studying in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Rajan modified a scrap Royal Enfield bike into an e-bike on a budget of just Rs 45 thousand (610.74 USD). Moreover, the environment-friendly vehicle drives up to 100 km (62 miles) on a full charge and runs at an average speed of 50 kmph.

In India, you can acquire a learner's license at the age of 16 and a driver's license at 18.
