HEMET - On 09/20/2021 at about 6:40 am, Hemet Fire Department responded to reports of a pickup truck that crashed head on with a semi truck trailer on Warren Rd just south of Esplanade Ave.

Arriving crews located a white pickup truck on the right side of the northbound lane of Warren Rd with half the driver side ripped off the vehicle. The driver was declared deceased on scene by paramedics.

It appears that the pickup sideswiped the semi, colliding first with one of the gas tanks on the driver side and then with the edge of the trailer. No official cause of the crash has been released by authorities at this time.

Warren Rd from Devonshire Ave to Esplanade Ave was been hard closed for an unknown duration of time pending the conclusion of the investigation, arrival of the coroner and clearing of the roadway.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. It's unknown if intoxication or speed were factors in the collision.
