A tattoo artist is on a mission to give people their body confidence back by using unique "camouflage techniques" on scars and stretch marks.

Tatianna B., 23, from San Francisco, US, also works with burns survivors, domestic abuse victims and people suffering from vitiligo, but says the most popular request from clients is help with stretch marks.

The artist shares her skills on TikTok, where she has recently gone viral, with one video racking up 4 million views and 217,000 likes – leaving users stunned at the incredible skin transformation.

Known as paramedical tattooing, Tatianna is "honoured" to be able to make people feel "confident in their own skin" in this way.

She doesn't want the services she provides to be seen as body-shaming but rather an option for those struggling.

"From day one, I’ve been obsessed with creating and learning about art," she said.

"But what I didn’t realise was that my lifelong obsession gave me a skill that can help people – an eye for colour.

"It wasn’t until a few years ago when I discovered paramedical tattooing.

"I did a lot of research before I finally jumped in, and it’s since given me so much fulfilment.

"I get to meet amazing new people every day that give me the honour of helping them feel confident in their own skin.

"I can say I found my dream job.

"Stretch marks and scars are beautiful and can tell a story of our strength.

"Many people embrace them, and that’s incredible and empowering.

“But, I do sympathise and resonate with those that feel a need to grow – to grow past something that maybe has bothered them for their whole life."

For some clients, she is able to camouflage marks by using custom-coloured ink but for others, she uses an "inkless" method, designed to make the scars or stretch marks blend into the skin around it.

She said: "The method I choose to perform depends on the age, colouring and texture.

"In many cases, I will opt for permanent tattoo ink – custom mixed that uniquely matches your skin tone. This requires a trained eye for colour, since I take your undertones and overtones into consideration."

It's Tatianna's inkless method, especially that has taken TikTok (@perfectmatchtattoo) by storm.

She said: "Other scars that are not candidates for ink may sometimes be approached by my 'inkless method'.

"This is a tattooing method in conjunction with my special own blend of deeply penetrating, vitamin-packed serums.

"This can naturally improve cellular turnover, reconstruction and rejuvenation of fibroblast cells and collagen."

Tatianna offers free consultations to people with scars or stretch marks and says that after seeing some of her clients' reactions following a session, she has realised just how life-changing it can be.

She supports the right for people to choose what would make them feel the most comfortable in their bodies.
