Locals were left shocked as firefighters pulled a huge python from underneath a resident's home in Jakarta.

The 5-metre-long snake attempted to escape into the sewers near the resident's waterways on September 22.

A firefighter managed to grab ahold of the python and removed it from the structure.

The reptile will be released back into the wild.

A five-meter long python entered a resident's house in the swift river, West Jakarta, Indonesia.

From this incident, residents reported to the West Jakarta fire brigade animal rescue team to evacuate the snake.
