Firemen rescued a 250-kilogram cow trapped in a deep well in central China.

Video filmed in the city of Huanggang in Hubei Province on September 21 shows a cow trapped inside a 15-metre-deep well.

Firefighters were seen using a mechanically driven pump to fill the well with water and let the cow float to the surface.

After around 20 minutes, the well was full of water and firefighters pulled the animal out.

According to reports, the cow fell into the well after it accidentally broke a cement board covering it.

“您好，是红安消防队吗？我家的黄牛掉进水井里出不来了！”9月21日，中秋佳节。当天上午8时47分，黄冈市红安县消防救援大队突然接到群众报警称：该县杏花乡李家冲村有头黄牛掉入井里急需救援。接警后，红安县消防救援大队立即派员赶赴现场。

上午9时10分，消防人员赶到现场发现:一头老黄牛掉入村民15米深的蓄水井中。水井口直径约2.5米宽，水井里有水，黄牛浮在水面，距离井口约5米高，井内为不规则圆柱形，井内壁采用砖石堆砌而成，井口有一半砌进墙里。老黄牛掉进去已有一个多小时。

由于村口路窄，消防车进不了村，消防人员遂乘坐村民的三轮摩托车将机动泵运过来。安装在距离蓄水井不远处的一个大水塘，消防人员采用机动泵将水不断地灌进蓄水池，让老黄牛慢慢浮出井囗。经过20分钟紧急灌水，蓄水池终于灌满，“一、二、三、一、二、三……”几名消防员齐心合力终于将老黄牛拉了上来。

据牛的主人介绍，这头老黄牛已经养了5年多，体重约250多公斤，老黄牛一直为牛主人家和村里左邻右舍家里耕田耙地。中秋节一大早，他将老黄牛的鼻绳子系在树干底部，准备吃完早饭去耕地，树旁有一口蓄水井，上面盖有一块水泥板。老黄牛在树下转着圈，不小心踩断水泥板跌入井内。（视频由湖北台提供）
