Heavy rainfall has caused flash floods in the western Spanish town of Almendralejo.

Footage showed streets turned into rivers today (September 23).

Several parts of the country have been affected by flooding including western Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and Valencia.

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across portions of eastern and southwestern Spain and most of Portugal through at least Sept. 24. The affected area includes parts of western Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, southeastern Catalonia, and most of Valencia in Spain. The rain causes floods in several municipalities of Badajoz and forces to cut roads. The rafts of water have forced to interrupt the circulation in the A-66 between Almendralejo and Villafranca de los Barros in both directions.
