Getting their wild oats – pink and grey Galahs feast after good winter rains

This small flock of pink and grey cockatoos called Galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla) in the Coalseam Reserve profited from a wet winter and spring that stimulated a surge of growth of weeds and wildflowers. These adults are eating the seeds of wild oats (Avena fatua). The closer images are of a dark-eyed male Galah.
