Esso petrol station at Tesco in London runs out of fuel on Saturday evening as panic buying continues
This Tesco Esso petrol station in Tolworth, southwest London, had run out of fuel on Saturday evening (September 25) as panic buying across Britain continued.
Motorists arriving at the station found the area around the pumps blocked off with cones and tape, along with signs reading "sorry, out of use".
The panic buying has been sparked by fears of fuel shortages as a result of a lack of HGV drivers in Britain to deliver fuel to petrol stations. The president of the AA has said "there is plenty of fuel at source" and that panic buying is the issue. The UK government has also urged the public to not panic buy.
