GOOD Party leader, Patricia De Lille, today held a media to address housing claims made by the Democratic Alliance (DA). This comes after the DA’s mayoral candidate, Geordin Hill-Lewis, led a protest to to the Public Works Department which De Lille heads. Hill-Lewis handed over a memorandum demanding the development of the Acacia Park parliamentary village for social housing.

Geordin Hill-Lewis admitted last week that out of 10 housing sites identified close to the CBD, only one has been completed. No social housing has been built in the Cape Town CBD since the DA took control of the City. De Lille alleges she was pushed as DA mayor after she started releasing land for social housing.

De Lille defeated the DA and the City in four successive court battle and the DA eventually had to pay her more than one million rand for making false claims against her. De Lille addressed the media and party supporters on the vacant site next to Food Lover's Market in Roeland Street, which she has identified as a site for social housing.
