Burst water pipe sends torrents of water crashing into restaurant in Thailand
A burst pipe sent torrents of water crashing into a restaurant in Thailand, filling the building with muddy floods.
CCTV footage shows the pipe erupting at the side of Mittraphap Road in Sung Noen District, Nakhon Ratchasima province on September 21.
The geyser-like flood torrent swept away decorative plants and chairs from nearby stores. The floor of a noodle shop was submerged within seconds as the water reportedly rose to more than five meters high.
Weerapong Patpraphai, owner of the restaurant, said the incident happened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday while they were preparing to sell food in front of the shop.
No one was injured and no severe property damage was reported.
Meanwhile, store owners had to shovel muddy debris from their shops after the water had receded.
They also asked concerned agencies to look into the burst pipe urgently for the safety of residents in the area.
