This is the moment a man from Texas successfully hand-fed a dead grasshopper to a banana spider.

The clip, which was filmed in Waco on September 7, shows the arachnid snatching the insect from Tony Jewell and immediately wrapping it up in a web.

"So, I was finally able to hand-feed my spider," Jewell said.

'Tony Jewell wanted to find out if he could pull off a task many people wouldn't even dare to attempt in the first place i.e. hand-feeding a spider.

This video, filmed in Waco, Texas, shows Tony offering his banana spider a grasshopper. The aggressive arthropod snatches the insect from the subject's hand and begins to wrap it in its web.

"So, I was finally able to hand-feed my yellow garden spider," Tony wrote. "A follower of mine had requested me to do it. My first attempt didn't work out too well, so I had to try again and this time, YOUR BOY CAME THROUGH WITH THE HAND FEEDING!"

This gripping survival challenge took place on September 7, 2021.
