The official unveiling of the remains from one of the most significant small Roman towns in the village of Newington, Kent were officially revealed today (September 28) after having been preserved.

The ancient Roman Temple foundations - which have been named 'Watling Place Temple' - are a reconstruction of the 2000 year old temple's footprint found on the site using original flints.

They have been preserved for future generations thanks to Newington History Group, who persuaded Persimmon Homes to spare space for the temple remains close to the site they were first found with the help of Swale and Thames Archaeology (SWAT).

Footage shows the temple foundations, and the many attendees at the ceremony including brief clips of children from Newington CEP school who performed a song called 'Just Like A Roman' as part of the ceremony, and footage of some of the artifacts found.
