Kind neighbours used a makeshift pulley to send food to a woman stranded inside her home due to intense flooding in Thailand.

Footage shows a man throwing a rope to his neighbour amid a deluge brought by Tropical Storm Dianmu in Sukhothai province on September 27 evening.

He then instructed her to carefully secure the other end of the line, which was used to ferry food aid inside a plastic bag.

Onlooker Kanokphit Bobo said: ‘Even though we don’t get along with the woman next door, we can’t leave each other when we’re in trouble.’

At least ten provinces in Thailand have been inundated by Tropical Storm Dianmu, according to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department of Thailand. The Thai Meteorological Department said rainfall is expected to subside within the week.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
