A non-venomous rat snake was removed from a government official's home in Tohana, Haryana.

Visuals from September 28 shows the snake catchers moving furniture around as they attempted to grab the elusive serpent.

The team eventually use their specialised tools to hold the snake and brought it outside where the residents were filming the encounter.

The rat snake was released back into the wild.

An Indian Rat Snake was spotted slithering inside an official's house in northern India's Haryana on September 28. The incident took place in Tohana of Fatehabad district.

Visual features the snake lurking underneath a bench inside a residence in broad daylight. Within moments, the rescuer strikes the reptile with the snake catcher while the other volunteer pushes the bench to rescue and it flees. Later, he grabs the slithering serpent coiling in the corner of the house and leaves through the door while it curls upon his hand to set itself free and panic ensues among residents as they gaze in terror.

The slithery creatures are generally non-harmful in nature and are known for coming out of their habitat during the monsoon. It was reported, the snake was bellying in Sadar police station and then moved to the quarter and then the residents informed the Wildlife Protection team, they rushed to the spot, and the rescuer, identified as Navjot Singh, saved the snake that retreated to the corner of the house with the team and let it free to its natural habitat.
