A bizarre case depicting the vaccine reluctance prevalent among individuals, especially the rural population came forward in central India's Madhya Pradesh on September 27. The incident took place in the Betul district.

Visual features a man standing near a resident's house door and talking to a woman. Following this, the woman joins her hands and requests the health workers to leave explaining why she does not want to take the vaccine while the officials talk her out of the belief. Then, she sits down the stairs and debates.

A few moments later a woman worker interferes and tries to console the lady as she walks away from the area inviting the workers along. They follow her lead to the temple. where she seeks blessings from the deity. However, she continues arguing with the health workers, following which she falls on their feet, rolling on the ground screaming.

The health department team had reached the village to conduct a covid vaccination camp. All the villagers were called to the vaccination center and they also gave door-to-door doses. But on seeing the vaccines being administered, the woman refused to take the jab due to her religious beliefs.
