Pet lover carries two dogs on his shoulders during flood in Thailand
This is the moment a man carried his two pet dogs on his shoulder while crossing a waist-deep flood in Thailand.
Footage shows the pet lover wading through the muddy deluge while two pooches named Toob and Tung clung on his arms in Sisaket province on September 29.
Muddy flash floods brought by typhoon Dianmu submerged the trio’s home forcing locals to evacuate outside of their village.
Resident Kram Bodyslam said: ‘I have to carry my dogs to a safer place as my home is now filled with floodwater. I hope the situation gets better soon.’
At least seven people have been killed while more than 10 provinces in Thailand, including Chaiyaphum, have been inundated by Dianmu, according to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department of Thailand. The Thai Meteorological Department said rainfall is expected to subside within the week.
Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
