Panic gripped the onlookers upon spotting an Indian rat snake in their residential area in northern India's Haryana on September 27. The incident took place in Tohana, located in the Fatehabad district.

Visuals feature the rat snake hiding behind the water pump in an open courtyard. Two rescuers arrive at the spot and swing into action. They use a stick-like object to poke the serpent out of its hiding. Following this, one of the men wears a glove and grabs the reptile. The Indian rat snake retaliates upon being caught and vigorously swings mid-air to break free, following which the serpent experts struggle a bit but calm it later.

The non-venomous snake hid behind a water pump of a house located behind the Shri Durga Girls College. Upon spotting the serpent, the panic-stricken locals alerted wildlife guard Navjot Singh Dhillon, who arrived at the spot with his team and rescued the snake, and later released it into the wild.
