Hügelheim A peaceful nature preserve nestled on the southside of La Crosse Wisconsin. Open April 15 - November 1 each year. The refuge for wildlife and people was created through the bequest of Paul E. Stry 1922 - 1987, When Paul E Stry was born on 16 February 1922, in La Crosse, La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States, his father, Edward Carl Frederick Stry, was 27 and his mother, Thea Alma Mielke, was 24. He died on 10 May 1987, at the age of 65.

Paul E. Stry, a La Crosse resident, directed that most of the income from his estate be used to care for five acres in the Town of Shelby just outside of La Crosse. Mr. Stry stipulated that the land should become a public nature preserve. That is where this was shot.

Now the Paul E. Stry Foundation Honored for Philanthropy with the Land Legacy Award, from Gathering Waters and the Mississippi Valley Conservancy.
