The video shows protesters dancing while holding signs that read "Save the Children", "Our freedom is given by God not by Government" and "Totalitarism always began with few restrictions".
Daily COVID-19 infections in the country have skyrocketed from around 1,000 daily cases a month ago to 12,590 new cases on Saturday.
That was Romania’s highest daily number of infections since the pandemic started.

The video was filmed in the night of 2 October. Over 10,000 people gathered to protest in Piata Victoriei against the new restrictions imposed by the government and the new green passport. As the number of cases is constantly rising, the government imposed the green pass for many places including restaurants, cinemas, bars, clubs, malls. If you are not vaccinated or didn't recover from covid within the last months, you will not be allowed in such places anymore.
