Cheeky wild monkey tries to steal food from passing truck in Thailand
This is the moment a cheeky wild monkey tried to steal food from a passing truck.
The primate raided the vehicle when it slowed down at a curve while travelling through Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand on September 11.
Upon landing on the back of the pickup truck, it rummaged through the supplies but unfortunately was not able to find any snacks.
Footage shows the monkey trying to open a toolbox using its mouth to look for food thinking it was a lunch box as the vehicle slowed down.
Car passenger Wanidcha Naubon said: ‘I was excited to see a monkey that close. We normally see elephants around here but that time it was a monkey that greeted us.’
After realising that the box lid was tightly closed the monkey left the box and waited for the right moment before jumping down to the road.
The monkey disappeared among the trees and the pickup truck continued travelling across the national park’s mountain road.
