A herd of tame elephants in Rangapara, Assam, guided a lost calf back to its family.

Visuals from October 3 show the tame animals walking alongside the lost 3-year-old calf.

They kept by its side until the calf was safely released into the Sonai Rupai National Park.

Young elephants often lack an understanding of forest lanes and get separated from their families.

A three-year-old elephant calf of almost three and a half feet in height was separated from its herd in northeastern India's Assam on October 3.

The incident took place in Rangapara, located in the Sonitpur district.

However, an experienced and tamed herd of elephants, called kumki found him and he was later released in the Sonai Rupai National Park in Sontipur.

Visuals feature the experienced herd of elephants guiding the calf. They keep it by their side and walk along the forested area, finally taking it to its place.

However, a herd of kumki (tamed and experienced) elephant were brought from Misamari. They located the calf who was later safely released into the Sonai Rupai National Park.
