Hundreds of Padang residents performed a ritual to eliminate the COVID-19 outbreak that hit Indonesia, which had hit Indonesia for more than 2 years in the Air Manis Beach Area, Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

This ritual begins with an elevated community leader inserting the offering leaves into the water in the container of a small boat.

The ritual was also continued by praying and eating together to ask the Almighty so that Covid-19 could be lost in Indonesia.

Ashurallah, one of the community leaders, said "besides praying for the country to be free from the Covid-19 outbreak, the ritual also asks God to protect other people from natural disasters and diseases."
