This calf may have been only born with two legs, but it's got quite a fan base in Madurai, India seen on October 7.

Villagers from all around gathered to witness the bipedal bovine, which currently cannot stand on her own, but all other indications are the calf is healthy.

The reasons for such a deformity are myriad, from genetics to diet.

Two legged calf that was born in South India has became a sudden celebrity of the village.

A rare incident occurred after a cow gave birth to seemingly healthy calf with only hind legs. The farmer reared a cow and it gave birth to a calf that had just two legs. Yet the calf was healthy. Currently, the 20 kilogram calf cannot stand up on her own, which means her mother cannot feed her, leaving her to be hand-reared by her owner.

Owner lifts the cow and feeds the calf with its mummy. People from that village and the neighbouring village gathered around to see the calf.

Livestock experts have said there could be several reasons for this unfortunate birth defect.
The problem may be genetic, or even have links to medicine or the food given to the farmer’s herd of cattle.
