Sharks attack speargun catch
An incredible video has emerged of a spear-fisherman encountering a frenzy of sharks while fishing off the coast of Dampier, Western Australia last month.
The video, captured on an underwater camera, shows the fisherman spearing a wahoo, prompting a group of small sharks to attack the catch.
The man can then be seen attempting to keep the sharks at bay using his speargun, with one shark retaliating by trying to bite the end of the weapon.
Writing online about the experience, the filmer said "While spearfishing offshore in north western Australia, a wahoo was speared and the sharks tried to eat it. I then fended the sharks of the fish resulting in one of the sharks biting the end of my speargun."
