Riots occurred in the boxing arena at the National Sports Week (PON) which was held in Jayapura, Papua on Friday (8/10/2021).

Boxer from DKI Jakarta named Jill Mandagie was beaten by committee officers.

This happened during the men's 56kg class battle between Jill Mandagie who lost against Lucky Mira A. Hari from NTT.

Jill Mandagie couldn't accept defeat. He was disappointed and angry. While protesting, Jill gets hit instead.

Do not remain silent, the boxer who is also the Indonesian Air Force, spontaneously replied. Chaos broke out. The coaches and DKI Jakarta officials immediately moved. Spectators in the stands came down to the match area.

The security guard seemed troubled by this incident. They tried to keep things under control.

Jill was herded into the locker room, but continued to be chased by the crowd who continued to fight.

Finally, the DKI Jakarta boxer along with the coach and officials and the man who beat him were taken to the Papua Regional Police for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, the spectators inside the Cendrawasih Gymnasium were asked to stay inside.
