Kingsferry Bridge added to Swale Council's heritage list in Kent, UK
The iconic Kingsferry Bridge linking the Isle of Sheppey to mainland Kent since the 1960s, has now been added to a list of key local heritage assets approved by Swale Council in Kent.
The list will be used as part of the council's heritage strategy.
Footage from September 26 shows the bridge being lifting for a small yacht - with claxons sounding at full height - before being lowered and the road being re-opened to traffic.
Kingsferry Bridge is believed to be the only lifting road and rail bridge in the UK.
