Democratic Alliance leader (DA), John Steenhuisen, is educationally malnourished says ANC (African National Congress) head of Western Cape elections, Cameron Dugmore. Dugmore was speaking at a press briefing held at the party's provincial office in Cape Town to announce its election strategy in the province.

Steenhuisen has faced constant criticism for only having high school matric certificate as his highest qualification as his party always claims to appoint the best and most qualified persons to positions.

Dugmore announced that the ANC has won back 8 municipalities in the Western Cape since 2016 despite winning only 1 municipality in the 2016 local government elections. The Western Cape is the only province in South Africa not controlled by the ANC. South Africa will hold the 2021 local government elections on 1 November.
