Cow rescued from 18m (60ft)-deep well it had fallen into in South India
A cow was rescued from an 18m (60ft)-deep well it fell into in South India, on 1 October.
After the animal fell in, a nearby farmer came rushing to help but was unable to. He immediately called fire and rescue personal for help.
One of them climbed down inside the well and tied ropes around the body of the cow. Then the cow was lifted out with the help of the villagers.
Its health was checked thoroughly and it was later handed over to its owner.
The incident happened in the Manaparai area of Trichy District in Tamil Nadu state.
