Tractor and trailer dump "smelly" thick, brown manure on roads across Cheltenham
An unmarked tractor and trailer have left roads around Cheltenham covered in manure. Caught on dashcam, the trailer - which had no number plate - took a 2.5 mile route around the town, dumping its load across the road and causing damage to motorists' vehicles. At least two drivers later reported punctured tyres and damage to their vehicles as a result of the debris. It is unknown whether the driver was aware of his rear tailgate being ajar or whether this was a deliberate case of fly-tipping.
As reported by local press, roads around the Cotswolds were later closed to clear the debris and Gloucestershire Police were informed.
On social media, one resident asked: "What happened on Cirencester road past Bafford Approach junction? Loads of debris on the road and what looked like some cars which suffered punctures."
Another replied: "It also goes all the way up the hill on Cirencester Road. Some quite big deposits. People will need to be careful." Another Cheltonian wrote: "It’s all along Greenhills Rd, Sandy Lane, into Bafford Approach and then onto Cirencester Road. Dangerous and it smells too,"
