Lebanon was pitched into darkness on Saturday 9 October, as all public electricity supplies went off.

Video shows roads in total darkness as the filmer drives around Ehden.

The town is in a more rural area of Lebanon. The streets in the capital Beirut are slightly brighter but only because of private generators.

People who can afford it have turned to private generators for electricity during Lebanon's economic crisis but those unable to pay the far higher cost of their power now have no access to power.

Lebanon's two largest power stations shut down because of a lack of fuel. Officials say it will be days before they are running again.

The country is in the middle of a severe crisis, with extreme fuel shortages, hyperinflation and political instability.
