Dozens of residents catch fish in river as reservoir discharges floodwater in China
Dozens of residents caught fish in a river as a reservoir discharged floodwater in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on October 10 shows residents standing in the rapid river attempting to catch fish.
Another video shows residents even standing in the river in the evening with lights to catch fish with nets.
The fish they caught were silver carps and they sold them on the shore.
The silver carp were over 5kg each and the weight of the larger ones reached around 15kg.
The local authorities have sent police officers to maintain the order in consideration of safety issues.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
