Hundreds of trees were blown over by strong winds brought by Typhoon Kompasu in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Quanzhou in Fujian Province on October 12 shows a motorcyclist that was hit by a tree blown over by the strong winds laying on the road while passersby and an officer checked on him.

Another clip shows workers clearing up the road and other fallen trees laid on the streets.

The motorcyclist was sent to hospital for treatment and he was not in a life-threatening condition.

Several schools have closed in consideration of students' safety.

Over 900 trees were blown over by the strong winds brought by Typhoon Kompasu.

10月12日，受台风“圆规”影响，泉州市区出现强风。上午10时许，朝天门景区附近一棵树被强风吹倒，压倒骑行路人。目击者称，伤者骑摩托车路过，被倒下的树木压倒，伤者已被送医治疗，无生命危险。
考虑到孩子们的人身安全，泉州市区部分学校纷纷停课，请同学们居家自学，注意安全，不随意外出。
记者从泉州市城市管理局获悉，受18号台风”圆规“影响，泉州市区园林绿化树木倒伏和风折现象严重，截至12日上午10点，共处理风倒树木237株，风折树木648株，总计900多株。目前，抢险排查仍在继续。（视频由福建台提供）
