Adorable orphaned baby elephant enjoys first swim in local dam after rescue
An adorable baby elephant enjoys her first swim in a dam after being rescued from a poacher's snare.
Khanyisa is a rare albino who was rescued in 2020 by Hoespruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD) in South Africa in a terrible state with horrific wounds caused by the snare.
After three months of treatment, Khanyisa was able to venture out into the world with her human carers and her companion sheep, Lammie.
She's also been introduced to other rescued elephants and has been accepted by the herd.
