Supporters of the African Christian Democratic Party picketed outside the offices of the Western Cape Provincial Legislature. They claim they are protesting against what they call “forced vaccinations”. There are no mandatory vaccinations legislated in South Africa.

Ferlon Christians, the provincial leader of the party, says the party is against forced vaccinations and believes people have the right to choose. When President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the country’s vaccine roll out, he emphasised that vaccinations would not be mandatory. Private businesses can however invoke right of admission clauses.
