Indian farmer creates stunning huge pictures in his rice paddies
Sure, you can create art with regular old paint on canvas but why not with rice on his rice paddies in India? This is what farmer Praseed Kumar Thayyil did, showcasing a gigantic Buddha portrait on his land.
He's done it by using varying hues of rice varieties to create his rice paddy art, having planted thousands of rice shoots in a meticulous pattern so they grow into the huge portrait.
The footage filmed on October 11 shows amazing aerial drone shots of vast rice paddies with the serene picture of a seated Buddha in the centre.
This was the fifth consecutive year that Mr. Kumar has been creating artworks on his rice field, working with a local artist to create the outline with a team of 15 workers.
