Five world records were set at the Freediving Outdoor World Championship at Incebogaz Municipal Public Beach, Turkey.
Croatia's Petar Klovar set the 5th of the world records, four of which were set in masters men's, with a 92-metre effort.
The competitors must pull down on a line and reach as deep as they can. They can use their feet but they are not allowed flippers in this event.

The World Underwater Federation (CMAS), hosted with the Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF), the 5th Freediving World Championships. Five world records were set at the Freediving Outdoor World Championships yesterday, including four in masters men’s category.
The 5th edition of the World Championships are held off Incebogaz Municipal Public Beach in Kas district of Antalya and will end on Saturday, (9th October) with fixed weight bi-fins competitions. Yesterday, 5 world records and 14 national records were broken in fixed weight no fins (CNF) competitions at the Freediving Outdoor World Championships. Croatia's Petar Klovar set the 5th of the world records, four of which were set in masters men's, with 92 meters in men. Klovar broke the 90-meter record set by Alexey Molchanov of RUF in the Bahamas in June 2021.
42 athletes competed in the men's and women's CNF competitions. In the women's competition, Alessia Zecchini of Italy became World Champion with a successful 69-meter dive. Nataliia Zharkova of Ukraine won silver diving to 67 meters. The bronze medal went to two athletes. Croatia's Mirela Kardasevic and Hungary's Fatima Korok took the bronze medal podium both with their 63m dives, while also claiming their country's new national records.
CROATIA'S KLOVAR BECOMES NEW HOLDER OF WORLD RECORD WITH 92 METERS
At the World Championships, the world record was broken in men's fixed weight no fins competitions. Petar Klovar of Croatia set both a world record and a world championship with 92 meters. Abdelatif Alouach of France won silver with a dive to 85m, breaking his own national record. Samo Jeranko of Slovenia won the bronze medal with a successful dive into the 85 meters.
In yesterday's fixed weight no fins competitions of the championship, the world record was broken four times in a row in the master men's competition. Jesper Stechmann of Denmark won the bronze medal and the world record with a dive of 59 meters. Pete Botman of the Netherlands set a world record with a successful 63-meter dive and won a silver medal. Jens Stoetzner of Germany won the World Championship with 65 meters. Stoetzner holds the new world record with this attempt.

The national teams of Austria, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Oman, Tunisia, South Africa, Sweden, Russia, Belarus, USA, South Korea, Germany, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, France, Lebanon, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Chile, Greece, Hungary, Colombia, Croatia and the Netherlands are competing.
