A woman who says she is 70 years old has given birth to a baby boy with the help of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in India.

The footage, filmed on October 13, shows the old woman, who is sitting next to her husband, holding the newborn baby and speaking with the medical staff. A man takes a picture of her to capture the emotional moment.

The Indian couple has been married for 45 years. Jivunben Rabari, 70, and her 75-year-old husband Maldhari tried to have a baby for many years before using assisted reproductive technology.

The elderly woman didn't have her ID to prove her age. However, she told reporters that she was 70 years old. Local media outlets have also reported that she is 70.

Dr. Naresh Bhanushali said: "When they first came to us, we told them that they couldn't have a child at such an old age, but they insisted. They said that many of their family members dit it as well. This is one of the rarest cases I have ever seen!"

The couple, who are illiterate, live in the remote village of Kemora in the Indian state of Gujurat.

The doctor advised the elderly couple that it was no longer possible for them to have children, but the illiterate couple did not give up and relied on the doctor and God , they tried for IVF technology and their wish came true . Dr Naresh Bhanushali who treated the couple tells that when the couple first came to us we suggested them that its not possible for them to have a baby at such an old age , but the couple insisted and told us that in their family many gave birth to babies at old age .
Dr Naresh added that this one of the rarest case I have seen . After the old lady gave birth to a baby boy there was a celebration in her village . She gave birth to baby around one month back
