Jewelry robbers nabbed in central India

Two vicious robbers were arrested after carrying out a jewelry theft in central India's Madhya Pradesh on October 16.

The incident took place in Umaria's Mayashree Jewellers.

CCTV footage features a man entering the shop and acting as a customer.

He takes interest in the jewelry, makes small talk, and as soon as he gets a chance, runs away with a jewelry box.

However, the police have been able to nab the two accused who carried out the incident of inter-state robbery with the help of public cooperation and CCTV, while promptly disclosing the theft of jewelry worth lakhs of rupees in the jeweler's shop. 

The accused are residents of Kaushambi district of UP and on the pretext of shopping at Maya Shree Jewelers in Umaria on Saturday afternoon, tried to escape from the shop with a box of jewelry worth lakhs of rupees.

The accused, Ashok Gupta and Lalchand Gupta are both real brothers and have carried out several robbery incidents.

However, action has been taken and jewelry and cash worth Rs 2,02,050 (USD 2685) has been seized and the investigation continues.
