Pakistan witnessing historic Rabi-ul-Awal lighting festival in Islamabad
For the first time in Pakistan, the largest lights festival in history was held. During the festival, Prime Minister's House, Parliament House, Supreme Court of Pakistan and many other buildings and highways were decorated with electric lights. 3D lights were installed on the Parliament House and beautiful paintings were displayed.
The world's fifth largest mosque, Al-Faisal, was also beautifully decorated at the Lights Festival. Lights were also installed on highways and bridges to watch the festival.
Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the official celebrations for the month of Rabi ul Awal at the Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Conference in Islamabad. The ceremony, to be held in Islamabad, will be a "historic" event, PM Imran Khan said while presiding over a high-level meeting about the preparations.
Muslims in Pakistan and across the world mark the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal in the Islamic lunar calendar as the day when Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born.
