A freak storm lashed New South Wales in Australia on Wednesday afternoon (October 20).

Toormina in Coffs Harbour was hit with large hail and flooding.

At least 400 people were evacuated after a roof collapsed at Toormina Gardens Shopping Centre.

The largest hailstone ever to fall in Australia – a hefty 16cm in diameter – was recorded in Queensland after storms hammered the Mackay region on Tuesday (October 19).
