Stomach-churning footage shows the ultimate Halloween launch – a street food stall selling pig brain soup.

The disgusting dish is sold from a home restaurant in the Chinatown area of Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows owner Sudjit Suranun rustling up the dish – which originates from neighbouring China – at her shop on October 20.

Three generations of her family have been serving the delicacy at the same shop since 1965 . The street food style restaurant has become well-known among Bangkok locals, who pile into the shop every day for their lunch, to eat the ‘delicious’ super-food.

Local resident Supang Jintasaereewong is seen in the video trying the meal for the first time, mixing sugar and spicy sauce into the bowl of pig brains.

She says: ‘The pig brain looks spongey. Honestly, I have never eaten pig’s brain and I don’t like it. It’s very soft, not smelly and not stinky. It’s soft like jelly. I think it’s OK for me as my first experience of eating pig brain. It’s Ok, but it’s still the pig brain. It’s delicious… but it’s pig brain.’

The final dish is served with hot water, tofu and pork meatballs mixed with the large pieces of boiled pig brain. Customers can season the soup with soy sauce, chillis, sugar and other spices.

According to Medical News Today, brain meat contains omega 3 fatty acids and nutrients. The latter include phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine, which are good for the nervous system. The antioxidants obtained by eating brain meat are also helpful in protecting the human brain and spinal cord from damage.
