A company named Nongfu Spring called the police to investigate after a woman found maggots floating in a bottle of water in central China.

In the video, shot in the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province on October 19, a woman showed the maggots and sediment in an unopened bottle of water to the camera.

Nongfu Spring has sent quality control personnel to check.

Nongfu Spring said the production process of their bottled water is continuous production. All the source water is strictly filtered and sterilised as well as the packaging containers. So it is "impossible" to have worm eggs entering the water during the production or manufacturing process.

They have also called the police to deal with the case.

近日，湖北武汉，一女子反映其购买的农夫山泉瓶装矿泉水里有大量蛆虫。20日，当事女子表示，她先后在两瓶水里发现沉淀物和虫卵的情况，矿泉水均未开封，农夫山泉已派质检人员去检测。
对此，农夫山泉官方回应称，农夫山泉生产过程为连续生产，所有源水都经过严格过滤、杀菌，包装容器亦经过严格杀菌，生产制造过程绝不可能进入虫卵。目前我们已经向公安机关报警处理。（视频由湖北台提供）
