Residents collected snails that were washed up onto a beach by Typhoon Kompasu in southern China.
Video captured in the city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province on October 14 shows a beach covered by a large number of Oncomelania snails and local residents collecting them to cook at home.
According to a resident, it was easy for a person to collect 50 kilograms the snails per day.
The snails were sold around 14 yuan to 15 yuan (£1.59-£1.7) per kilogram in the market.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
