China’s Government has published its national plan on greenhouse gas emissions on the eve of the COP 26 climate summit.

In the plan, known as a nationally determined contribution, emissions would peak by 2030 and then be reduced to net zero three decades later. China is responsible for 27 per cent of global emissions, emitting more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined.

Drone footage taken on October 22 shows the exterior of the coal-fired Huaneng Power Plant in Huai 'an city in east China's Jiangsu province.

COP 26 takes place from November 1 in Glasgow.
