Empty shelves are seen at a drug store in Queens, New York on Saturday (October 23).

Video filmed at the Astoria branch of drug store chain Rite Aid were reminiscent of the early days of the coronavirus pandemic 18 months ago. Most paper towels and toilet paper were gone and many other items were clearly missing as well.

White House officials are discussing a possibility of deploying the National Guard to assist in addressing a mounting supply chain backlog, according to the Washington Post.
