CCC (Cape Coloured Congress) leader, Fadiel Adams, says he would be willing to work with apartheid architect, Hendrik Verwoerd, if it would uplift the Coloured people of Cape Town.

CCC is contesting the 2021 local government elections with Adams as their mayoral candidate. Adams has no track record in the political arena, having worked in the building industry. He has publicly claimed he is a former drug addict.

Adams rose to fame as leader of the Gatvol Capetonian movement, which promotes Coloured nationalism. Gatvol Capetonan then registered CCC as a political party. He caused outrage when he went on national TV and said black people should be sent back to the Eastern Cape.

According to a News24 poll, the ruling Democratic Alliance (DA) is set to retain power in the Cape Town metro, albeit with a reduced majority.
