At least five people were wounded today (October 26) when a gas explosion destroyed part of a five-storey residential building in the Russian city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

At least six apartments in which 14 people lived were destroyed, according to officials.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the cause of the explosion was a gas leak.
