Video filmed by Jeff Rogers shows the explosive activity emanating from a crater of Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano.

"Off of Devastation Trail, we saw the renewed eruption of Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano," the filmer wrote.

"After a two-hour drive to the far side of the island, our group hiked at night with the help of a nearly full moon. The lava erupted in sporadic jolts, painting the walls of a newly formed volcanic cinder cone."

He added: "The fresh lava emerges at 2,000 degrees F and barely cools as it pours down into Halemau’mau crater, adding to the lava lake that bubbles and swirls as it continues to grow."

This footage was filmed on October 22.
